BACKGROUND: Alita is the mother of Taka and Talia Kumishiro, and the aunt of Sonic. At age 25, she met the warrior Jyles Kumishiro in Cental City (what is now Metropolis), and a year later they were married. When the events leading to the First Great War began, Alita and Jyles moved to West City along with Jyles' brother Jules Kumishiro and his wife Bernadette. 9 months before the outbreak of the Great War, Alita gave birth to twins, Taka and Talia, in their home in West City. The events of the Great War led to Jyles' death, Jules roboticization, and Taka's loss, leaving Alita alone to raise Talia along with Bernie raising Sonic alone. Alita would be reunited with Taka roughly 17 years later. She is a very protective, nuturing, and caring soul, and in her younger days she was a formidable warrior. Since Jyles' death however, she opposes any form of conflict or fighting, and hates the fact that Taka is following a similar warrior path to that of his father's.
