BACKGROUND: Ayumu is Gomi Ishataki's older cousin, and has been living in Dimension Mobius for 5 years. After having a troublesome time adapting to the new world, Ayu settled down with Gomi in an apartment in downtown Metropolis, and has been there ever since. Unlike her tomboy cousin, Ayu entered the dating scene, having numerous unsuccessful relationships before settling down with her steady boyfriend, Rage. However, when the Paradox hit, Rage packed his bags and left Ayu, telling her nothing. Still shaken up by the event, she finds comfort upon meeting the Korringwood crew, and more importantly, Red. She is a cheerful soul, and tries to be as optimistic as she can, despite the desire to be sour and pessimistic due to her apparent inability to find security and stability in a real relationship. Upon meeting Red, however, her world literally turns upside down as they quickly become close to each other. Ayu later reveals to Red that she has the ability to control Seiki, a rare healing-based ki.
