BACKGROUND: After the Brotherhood gained control of Metropolis, Sakura hid underground with the survivors and helped to form a Resistance. After 20 long years of fighting, she crossed paths with the past version of her old friend Ash, and traveled back to in time to a period in which the Brotherhood was still weak, before Taka and Vile were merged. Single-handedly destroying the Death Eye, she killed Vile, Kuraki, Kabika, Akane, and Smoke before engaging with DesuSigma. She managed to destroy him after a furious battle, but in doing so negated her own existance and timeline, as killing the Brotherhood prevented any of the events of her reality from occuring. Although her intentions were good, the erasure of an entire timeline had catastrophic consequences on the fabric of time and space, leading to a massive temporal/dimensional paradox in the present reality. The results of this paradox are the focus of Series 3.
